I turned 3 in June, 2004. In Japan we celebrate the 3-5-7 Festival. Kids who are ages 3, 5, and 7 get dressed up and make a special trip to a shrine.

Personally, I think the whole shrine thing is just a good excuse to goad your parents into taking you out for ice cream afterwards.

To comemerate, many families go to a photographer and pay ungodly sums of money for special pictures - no offence uncle Brad.
