Anthony's First Skate

On Christmas Eve we took Anthony for his first skate!!

He did pretty well even though he had to use girly-man figure skates. Actually, he was more interested in making a snowman with the ice shavings.

Mochi Tsuki

Just before New Years, Anthony attended a "Mochi-Tsuki" (which means "making mochi").

Mochi is a chewy rice cake made by pulverizing special cooked rice into a kind of gooey putty. It's actually not bad and is served with various tasting sauces ranging from soya-sauce to a sweet-bean paste.

My Big Fat Greek Meal

Nagoya Living is a local free newspaper in our community.

Toshiko has made a bit of a hobby out of sending in clips and stories about interesting aspects of family life. To the point where they have her completing regular questionnaires.

Well with the Athens Olympics coming up, there is apparently a bit of a "Greece" boom here in Japan (although none that we've seen), anyhoo...the newspaper called up Toshiko and asked if they could bring by a nice Greek lady (by the name of Matsuura) to whip us up a wonderful meal of Moussaka and Greek Salad.

We agreed and now we're famous.

June 11th 2004 - Happy 3rd Birthday!

Hard to believe, Anthony turned three!

How the time flies. Seems like just yesterday he was only two!

June 2004 - Disneyland

We promised Anthony that we'd go to Disneyland for his 3rd birthday.

So at the beginning of June we set out on a 2-day excursion to Tokyo Disney Resort. We stayed right near the park and spent 2 whole days "doing" Disneyland.
